“You are most productive when you feel good about yourself”

Jami Kiran is a Solution Architect at the Global Business Services (GBS) department. He daily works on issues in enterprise monitoring, data consolidation, security and networking. "My work is very dynamic and interesting. I am learning about new developments and technology all the time. Not only in training courses, seminars, and workshops, but also during projects. We call that ‘evolving throughout the journey’. I know of very few companies with more opportunities for IT specialists." Jami travels a great deal with international colleagues, to work on solution designs, business cases and schedules. He works hard, but appreciates that Wolters Kluwer also attaches great value to a proper balance between work and private life. "My manager addresses that issue if he thinks that I work too hard and should pay more attention to my family or my development. At Wolters Kluwer, they understand that you are most productive when you feel good about yourself."

Jami Kiran: "Since the end of 2015, I have worked as a Solution Architect at Wolters Kluwer’s GBS. I develop technical solutions in accordance with the domain and enterprise architecture. Enterprise monitoring, security and networking are topical issues in my work. I am responsible for Wolters Kluwer's data centre consolidation projects in Europe. Right now, that is all about the cloud. A fascinating subject; there is still a lot to discover in the public, private and hybrid cloud."

"My work is very dynamic and interesting. I learn about new developments and technology all the time. I regularly follow training courses, seminars, and workshops, most recently, for instance, on new technology in the field of enterprise monitoring, in Las Vegas. And I also learn during projects. We call that ‘evolving throughout the journey’. At Wolters Kluwer, you are given the opportunity to join projects that appeal to you, even if it is not within your regular field of interest. You get the chance to develop yourself on all fronts. But it doesn't just happen, you need to show what you can do, indicate what you want to contribute, and in doing so, create your own opportunities. A give and take policy. What I also appreciate, is the attention to a good balance between work and private life. "My manager addresses that issue if he thinks that I work too hard and should pay more attention to my family or my development. Even now, when it is all change in our company and everyone is extremely busy. At Wolters Kluwer, they understand that you are most productive when you feel good about yourself."

"GBS is an open and transparent department; what is discussed at the strategic level, is quickly shared. You can easily approach colleagues, even managers. They like brain-storming and want to hear what goes on in your mind. The contacts with my colleagues at Wolters Kluwer, both in the GPS department and the business units, are usually by email, Skype and telephone. Besides that, I travel a lot, to collaborate on solution designs, business cases and schedules. We also have regular international meetings on our strategy, or on innovation. New perspectives and ideas are given ample scope. At the last summit in Zurich, several colleagues with innovative ideas received an award."

"For many IT specialists, Wolters Kluwer may not be the first company that comes to mind. But once you look further into our company, you see that there are a lot of opportunities here. We want to become an information services company and apply the latest technology. I know of very few companies with more opportunities for IT specialists."
